An Agric Development consultant with Ghana Trade and Livelihood Coalition (GTLC) Mr Chals Wontewe has appealed to private sector to set up private Agric mechanization sectors in the Northern region to alleviate the suffering of women smallholder farmers in accessing mechanization services during the farming season. It has been identified that the rice sector play a key role in creating jobs, improving the food security, increase household incomes especially women in rice production and processing in the region, as rice demand and consumption has increased. According to Agric experts more than 3000 women farmers in the northern region who are engaged rice farming within the rice value chain don't get the needed support during the start of the farming season to improve upon their land preparation activities to increase productivity.
