Stakeholders on Rice value chain engaged on mapping strategies

The Ghana Trade and Livelihood Coalition has interacted with Rice stakeholders in the Savelugu Municipality to function out Rice market mapping strategies to harmonize the various initiative in the rice sector to improve the paddy rice production in the municipality. The Savelugu Municpality has more than 40,000 hectors of rice valleys for the cultivation of paddy rice. Rice farming engages more than 1,000 smallholder farmers and 1500 processors under the value chain. However, only few actors within the rice value chain get the required support during the cultivation and harvesting, as activities are poorly coordinated in the municipality.
